Can't stop staring at it. It makes me really want to know what's going on. All the different images, hallucinated about who know what. The way John is kneeling next to Sherlock with one hand on his wrist as if checking for a pulse and other hand is brushing against Sherlock's face while he looks at him with concern. It seems like Sherlock's life is fading and John knows it, which is why he keeps checking for a pulse to make sure he's still alive. He's trying to comfort Sherlock who's frightened and haunted by thoughts and ghosts. One has to wonder if he's even taking drugs, or as one person put it, if it's just all the things he sees. It might be after he come back after being thought to be dead and is suffering from some kind of PSTD and John understands 'cause he's been through the same thing.
I adore this drawing. The more I look at it, the more things I see, the 'unsolved cases', the bat coming out of the pinned bats. I love John and Sherlock's faces, especially John's expression and how blank Sherlock's looks, like he's completely shut down. I also love Sherlock's hair, the colors in it. I always seem to find myself back at this piece and finding something new about it.
